Volunteer Opportunities in the West Bank Summer 2018: Volunteering in the West Bank with the Excellence Center means limitless opportunities to immerse yourself in language, culture, and make an impact with your time traveling. The Excellence Center is located in Hebron, Palestine, which is settled within the West Bank. There are several aspects of our volunteer programs that past volunteers have particularly enjoyed. We want to share with you what some of those aspects are.

Volunteering at the Excellence Center grants you the chance to meet many new people. International volunteers meet, converse, and develop friendships with other internationals who are volunteering, studying Arabic, or interning at the Center. In addition, they will be able to meet a countless number of Palestinians during your time here. Past volunteers have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the locals, the students they work with, their host family, and others that they meet while walking down the street.

Volunteers also get to experience cultural and linguistic immersion when in the West Bank. If you are studying Arabic or wish to begin studying Arabic, traveling to an Arabic-speaking area is the best way to develop your language skills. What’s more is that all individuals who participate in one of our volunteer programs receive 3 hours of private Arabic lessons per week. You can choose between studying Modern Standard Arabic, the Palestinian dialect, or a combination of the two. These 3-hours classes each week are a time for volunteers to learn the local language, then put it into practice after class when you explore Hebron.

Another benefit for female volunteers at the Excellence Center is that you have the wonderful opportunity of living with a host family. Living with a host family is another place where you can enhance your Arabic speaking skills as well as get to see an up-close view of daily life in Palestine. As far as male volunteers, males are placed in an apartment located a short distance from the Center. Though, men, we want to assure you that you will still have many opportunities to practice your Arabic. Meeting friends in coffee shops, visiting clothing stores and restaurants, and conversing with staff members at the Center are some of those opportunities to enhance your language skills.

The Excellence Center provides internationals with many different volunteer opportunities in the West Bank Summer 2018. Participating in one of our projects is an exciting way to make an impact while traveling. The West Bank holds beautiful scenery, beautiful people, and beautifully delicious food. In addition, famous cities such as Bethlehem, Hebron, Ramallah, Jericho, and Nablus are all located with the West Bank. Volunteers will have free time during their program where they can travel to these cities, either on their own or on trips organized by the Center.
