The Excellence Center 🇵🇸 مَرْكَزُ اَلتَّمَيُّزِ

The Excellence Center in Palestine 🇵🇸 (مَرْكَزُ اَلتَّمَيُّزِ or Markaz Al Tamayoz) has been a hub for learning and community development since its founding in June 2011. Located in the lively city of Hebron, West Bank, you can find the Center on Ein Sarah Street (Street 420) across from the Al Hussein Mosque in Building No. 7.

The Excellence Center in Palestine provides educational, cultural, social, and community development services to international students, interns, volunteers, and local community members, including children, Palestinian refugees, youth, and women. Its central location facilitates easy access for everyone and is supervised by the Palestinian Authority.

Engage In Palestine

In addition to its role in local community development, The Excellence Center later expanded its work by establishing the “Engage In Palestine” branch, “Study in Palestine,” and “Volunteer In Palestine” hubs. These new initiatives promote Levantine and Palestinian Arabic language education and provide specialized community development, volunteer, and internship programs.

Volunteer And Internship Programs

The Excellence Center offers a variety of volunteering and internship programs focused on areas such as English instruction, human rights, women’s rights, media and journalism, medicine and healthcare, Palestinian refugees, music and arts, Palestinian culture and politics, Palestinian laws and legal systems, and working with Palestinian children and youth.

Each volunteer program is designed to directly impact the Palestinian community by bringing together international participants and local community members. Our programs aim to make long-term impacts in the lives of both the Palestinian and international participants.

1-13 Week Programs

The Excellence Center offers diverse internship and volunteer opportunities for people of all backgrounds. Our programs are developed for graduate and undergraduate students of Middle Eastern studies, Arabic studies, and political sciences, professionals, employees of human rights organizations, scholars conducting case studies on Palestine and Israel, human aid workers, social workers, teachers, native English speakers, non-native English speakers, and anyone interested in engaging in Palestinian culture and daily life.

The Excellence Center in Palestine welcomes participants of all ages (18+). Participants may stay for as little as one week or up to 13 weeks, the duration of visas granted upon arrival at the Tel Aviv airport.

Intensive Arabic Program

In addition to these internship and volunteering programs, the Excellence Center in Palestine offers a variety of Arabic courses for Levantine (Ammiya), Palestinian colloquial Arabic, and Modern Standard Arabic.

Learners can choose from super-intensive, intensive, and non-intensive Arabic immersion language courses during the year. We also offer summer intensive programs. In addition to the Center’s offerings in Palestine, Arabic learners from anywhere in the world can also participate in the Center’s online Arabic courses taught by qualified Palestinian teachers and professors.

At The Excellence Center, we understand that things change. As such, our programs are incredibly flexible if you need to alter travel plans or have a change of heart. As our programs take place year-round (with flexible start and end dates), you decide your arrival and end dates.

Furthermore, you can change your start date entirely free of charge if requested at least two weeks beforehand.
