4 Noted Palestinian News Publications: While many Arabic language and international publications cover current Palestinian news regularly and thoroughly, four noted news agencies stand out as the most direct and representative resources in presenting Palestinian politics and culture through daily, weekly or monthly coverage. Here you may find the list of 4 Noted, main Palestinian News in Palestine:

1. Al Quds (القدس‎)

Al Quds (القدس‎) is the leading Palestinian Arabic language daily newspaper. Based in Al-Quds (Jerusalem), it is the largest daily newspaper in circulation in Palestine. The publication was founded in 1951 by Mahmoud Abu-Zalaf and is the only newspaper that predates the establishment of the Palestinian National Authority. Abu-Zalaf, also held the position of editor-in-chief until his death in 2005. Abu-Zalaf’s son, Walid Abu-Zalaf took over the position and remains editor-in-chief  today.

Al-Quds has traditionally been considered a more cautious and deliberate publication with much of its material originally outsourced from external news agencies. The publication has expanded its coverage in recent years, however, to include increased story reporting by its own correspondents. The hardcopy publication is supported by its web-based versions in PDF and HTML formats. The languages available online include Arabic, Persian and English.

Al-Quds has traditionlly supported a more peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It is the only daily publication subject to Israeli censorship, owing to its location in East Jerusalem.

2. AlAyyam (ألأيام)

Al-Ayyam (أل أيام), meaning Days, was established in 1995, is the second-largest circulation daily newspaper in Palestine, and is based in  Ramallah. Al-Ayyam is known to historically publish more in-depth exclusive reports that include a broad range of commentary with columnists mainly comprised of academics and Fatah-affiliated PNA officials.

While traditionally considered a nominally independent paper, its original editor-in-chief was a long-time adviser to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. Polling suggests the paper has proven to be historically more popular in Gaza than in the West Bank.

Al-Ayyam has been long held to be directed more toward a comparatively learned, discerning readership.

3. Al-Hayat al-Jadida

Al-Hayat al-Jadida (الحياة الجديدة‎), meaning The New LIfe was established in 1995 in Ramallah by Nabil Amro and Hafeth Al Barghouti. It is known as the official newspaper of the Palestinian National Authority. The paper is currently edited by Arif Hijjawi.

Because of its pro PA government stance, Al-Hayat al-Jadida had it’s distribution in Gaza banned by court order in May of 2019, highlighting the continuing division between Hamas in Gaza and the PA in the West Bank.  Al-Hayat al-Jadida is both circlated in print as well as published online. The publication is currently based in Al-Bireh just outside Ramallah
