Volunteer Opportunities in the Middle East Summer 2018: Summer is right around the corner and we know that many students and graduates are in the process of searching for summer opportunities. If you have studied or are currently studying Middle Eastern Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Human Rights, Arabic, or another related field, then chances are you are highly interested in traveling to the Middle East. Why not make this summer 2018 the time to do so?

In terms of volunteer opportunities in the Middle East 2018, there are a countless amount of opportunities available. With many programs in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, and other Middle Eastern countries, you may be wondering about the advantages to coming to Palestine to volunteer with the Excellence Center. For starters, Palestine is a vastly beautiful and historic land. There are many famous cities to see in and around the West Bank, including Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Nazareth, and Hebron.

The Excellence Center is located in Hebron, which is within close proximity to Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Volunteering in Palestine at the Center means that you can travel to spend an afternoon in Bethlehem or a full day in Jerusalem. In addition to the many sights to see, the Palestinians are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and hospitable people. Experiencing an authentic glimpse of Palestinian culture will be a major benefit of participating in a volunteer program in Palestine with the Excellence Center.

The historic sites, the religious sites, the culture, the people, and the food are all wonderful reasons to choose to volunteer in Palestine. However, volunteering with the Excellence Center also allows volunteers to engage in language immersion. If you are interested in developing your Arabic language skills, then we are pleased to inform you that all our international volunteers are allotted 3 hours of one-to-one Arabic lessons per week

Another aspect that makes our volunteer programs in Palestine unique is that they are very flexible in terms of start and end dates. Participants can inform the Center about start and end dates that work for their schedule and the Excellence Center will accommodate to meet their needs. Programs last from 1 week to a maximum of 3 months, as the visa expires after 90 days.

As far as the specific volunteer projects organized in Palestine at the Excellence Center, there are many to choose from. Our most popular project is the Teach English in Palestine program, but there are several others for individuals who have expertise or interest in another topic. Individuals studying or working in a field related to the Middle East will find their summer in Palestine to be very rewarding. Out of all the places you could volunteer in the Middle East, we hope you see the value in volunteering at the Excellence Center in Palestine. Will we see you in Hebron this summer 2018? We would be glad to welcome you.
