“I am Maria from Germany and I chose to visit the Excellence Center. Why? I wanted to learn the Arabic dialect of the region and theย Excellence Center offers a combination of learning Arabic and doing some meaningful work for the community. Studying Arabic in Palestine โ teaching English, under this title I am sharing my time at the Excellence Center with competent teachers and dedicated volunteers.
I started only yesterday and assisted a teacher in his English class. The students were very motivated and not divided by age group but by level. The age-group varied between 12 and 24. I liked this very much. Even though some students were late, we started on time. The lesson was fun because the teacher applied various methods to make it more interesting and I could participate immediately. I enjoyed working together with him a lot, and fortunately, the students were satisfied too. At the same time, I learned how to use certain words in the Palestinian dialect, and I am looking forward to more of this kind of experience..
It looks as if my aspirations regarding my learning the dialect as well as contributing to the education of the students will be met.”
